  • Child Care Resource Center – Referrals for financial assistance
    Text 4baby – a free mobile information service that provides pregnant women and new moms with information to help them care for their health and give their babies the best possible start in life
  • Literacy Enrichment – An assortment of classic children’s literature books are available for check-out. Supplemental learning activities for the whole family are available in our early literacy take home packets, created by WVU Early Childhood Education Students.
  • Parent education materials & resource room
  • Facebook – connect with other students who are parents, receive useful updates and information
  • Semester kick-off ice cream social – bring the family for some summer treats to the Purinton House commuter lounge the first week of classes. Refer to website for day and time.
  • Family Consultations
  • Bulletin boards for sharing family and community information and needs
  • Babysitting lists – WVU students who are available for babysitting opportunities. Contact Student Family Resources to acquire the list
  • MEETUP – Host family events so students who are parents can interact with and learn from their peers
  • Family Fun Trip – planned and sponsored to a regional area that promotes healthy family relationships and networking with other WVU students who are parents
  • Serve as liaison between the University and community promoting available resources
  • Serve as a single point of contact for West Virginia University on child care and family resources available to the campus community
  • Referrals for Employee Child Care Assistance Program (ECCAP)
  • Outreach programs * Technical Support – Provides leadership and technical assistance for campus and community about early care and education issues. Guidance is available to community child care centers, after-school programs, and home-based providers seeking National Accreditation
