- Mountaineer Kids Club
- WVU Student Child Care Assistance Program (SCCAP) – Financial assistance for students who are parents to pay for child care in community child care centers.
- Parents Realizing Our Potential as Students (PROPS) – Parent support group. Networks WVU students who are parents with other WVU students and their families. Carruth Center provides sessions designed to meet the needs of students who are parents. A free family dinner is provided at 6:00-6:30 and child care is available 6:30-7:30 at the MKC while parents have their group meeting. Please call or email for semester schedule.

- Advocacy and implementation for multi-phase plan for campus child care including the creation of campus based child development center
- CCAMPIS Grant development, oversight, and implementation
- Bulletin boards for sharing family and community information and needs
- Babysitting lists—WVU students who are available for babysitting opportunities. Contact CDFSS to acquire the list.
- Referrals for financial assistance from Child Care Resource Center
- Sponsor family events so the students who are parents can interact and learn from their peers
- Provide technical advise for community child care centers, after school programs and home based providers on accreditation
- Lunch ‘n Learn trainings/workshops/events—Programming to allow for social interactions between students who are parents. Educational presentations are offered to inform students of University and community based resources to help support their family needs.
- Serve as liaison between the University and community promoting available resources
- Serve as a single point of contact for West Virginia University on child care and family resources available to the campus community
- Student Affairs alternative tailgating—held at E Moore Hall once during the football season. Offers free family friendly activities, food and beverages.
- Semester kick-off ice cream social—bring the family for some summer treats to the Purinton House commuter lounge the first week of classes. Refer to the website for day and time.
- Technical Support Provides leadership and technical assistance for campus and community about early care and education issues. Guidance is available to community child care centers, after-school programs, and home-based care providers seeking National Accreditation.
