U.S. Department of Education’s Child Care Access Means Parents in School Program (CCAMPIS)

Purpose
Supports the participation of low-income parents in the post-secondary education system through the provision of child care services.

CCAMPIS Funding
Four year project period 10/01/2006 to 9/30/2010
$128,686.00 in project year one
$428,725.00 over a four-year project period (contingent on available federal funds)

Four year project period 9/16/ 02 to 9/15/06
$84,939 in project year one
$360,700 over a four-year project period

CCAMPIS Program Objectives

  1. To establish new child care programs to serve the child care needs of low-income student parents, regardless of race, gender, ability, and ethnic background.
  2. Continue existing CCAMPIS funding for the WVU Child Development and Family Support Services office to disseminate information on child care services and assistance programs.
  3. Continue existing CCAMPIS funding for the Student Child Care Assistance Program (SCCAP).
  4. Continue existing CCAMPIS funding to support the parent resource center that serves as a support system for low – income student parents to reduce family conflict, stress and risk factors.
